Margaret E. Oser Fund Scholarship
The Margaret E. Oser Scholarship was created to provide awards for women with high academic ability and significant financial need. Margaret E. Oser was very interested in helping women and children in Orange County. After many years of dedicated stewardship, the Board of Mrs. Oser’s private foundation looked to the Orange County Community Foundation to carry out Mrs. Oser’s philanthropic legacy in perpetuity.
The Funds may be used for basic living and transportation expenses incurred in connection with college or university attendance. Scholarships may be renewed for one year, based on continued financial need, maintenance of at least a 3.0 GPA and progress towards a Bachelor’s degree.
Student will transfer to a 4 year university by Fall 2017
Student must be recently or currently enrolled at an accredited Southern California community college at the time of application
Student must have completed at the time of application at least 2 semesters with at least 12 units of academic work in each of those semesters. If student is currently or recently enrolled in a community college, completed units must be transferable to a four-year college or university.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in the transferable coursework
Have identified a possible educational focus and have obtained 2 written recommendations, at least one of which is from an instructor in that field
Student must demonstrate an ability and intent to earn a Bachelor’s degree as a full-time student if selected for this program
